Riverdance - The Gathering

Riverdance Line 1 

The record books were broken on Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin on the 21st July 2013.A total of 1,693 dancers formed a Riverdance dancing line from the bridge all the way round the quays to the Sean O'Casey Bridge and back again.

 Riverdance founded by Moira Doherty,producer and John McColgan,director for Eurovision in 1994 has become a world wide hit and the show has been performed on all continents.

 Original Riverdancer Jean Butler, now with her own jewellery range Jean Butler Jewellery

started off procedings with current lead star Padraic Moyles. The weather,the boats on the Liffey and the colourful dancers just made this literally a record breaking day.

 The cast of Riverdance were linked by hand with dancers from forty four different countries and for five minutes from the start at twelve noon ,the music and the thumping of nearly three and a half thousand feet rang around the Dublin Quays.

 This above all was part of The Gathering and the children and even the adults taking part will long remember the day when they helped set a new record for the longest ever Riverdance line in the world.
