The Insight Programme and Irish Dancing!

Sarah Woods2Sarah Woods and two friends Wayne Mackin and Brian Fitzpatrick are joining the Development Perspectives team for three weeks in June 2013 to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania as part of The Insight Programme.

Sarah is a professional Irish dancer and has toured Europe & Asia for the past number of years .She is hoping to make the best use of her dancing. As part of her fundraising and to get the ball rolling, she is organising a special show on the 13th of April in Dublin. They are planning to raise €7,000 for the INSIGHT Programme which will see them doing physical work as in digging foundations or planting things as well as in the evenings going to medical centres, schools and orphanages.
This is a professional show which I take part in also. The show is called Irish Nights. The night brings traditional Irish entertainment to the Belvedere Hotel Dublin which is just a 2 minute walk from Parnell Street at the top of O'Connell Street which is served regularly by public transport it is so simple to find. This is a unique opportunity to experience traditional Irish music and dance for which Ireland is famous the world over. This spectacular show will give you a flavour of the different styles of Irish Dance from 'Sean Nos' translating as 'Old Style' to modern. The show features a cast of dancers whose credits include world famous shows such as, Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.

The spectacular show has been choreographed by the Directors of "Damhsa", Denise Flynn and Jim Murrihy with an original score by Anthony Davis. All cast members have performed both nationally and internationally in such famous shows as, Riverdance, Feet of Flames and Lord of the Dance. They have also showcased their talents on TV shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, David Letterman, Dancing with the Stars, The English National Lottery, the 69th Academy Awards, The Late Late Show, the Rosie O'Donnell Show and numerous others. The two hour show features amazing dancing accompanied by live music performed by a group of talented Irish Musicians.

The price is €15 per person which includes finger food served on the night. The show starts at 8 and finishes at 9.45. They hope  to fill the room, which is quite a lot of people.
