Dancing for Charity

November 2012 saw the dancers of The Clarke Goodman Academy helping out the organisers of a charity ceili in aid of the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland . The venue was a third level institution in Dublin,All Hallows College .

The Alzheimers Society do a fantastic job but unfortunately like other charities are in need of money and donations to keep services going . Musicians on the day included playes from Comhaltas Ceolteoiri Eireann and other friends .

The Clarke Goodman School gave a display of traditional Irish dancing backed by live music . A link to  the video of their dancing  appears at the end of this article. The girls were also on hand to give advice to those who wished to dance themselves in the ever popular ceili dance,The Walls of Limerick . A link to the video of this appears at the end of this article also. The girls were joined in their display from some other dancers from other schools .

It was a very worthwhile fundraiser and one which the girls and their teacher Cathleen Ennis were only too willing to give of their time and service too. Away from the competitive atmosphere of Feiseanna and competition the dancers were able to express themselves and enjoy passing on their steps to those there who may have last danced during their schooldays .  That said the day was for enjoyment and to link in with alzheimer's and, the link that has with the passing on of tradition so those coming next will have received from those that have gone  before the traditions of the past .
