Children of Lir

Connioras is a new production company. It aims to promote County Mayo's rich tradition of Irish music, song and dance. It has developed from the Moffatt School of  Dancing and now stands  independently. To date Connioras has produced 2 full length Irish dance shows. 


This show has a cast of 18 champion dancers who are accompanied by some young talented musicians and portray the beautiful legend that is the Children of Lir. A superb show suitable for all age groups to enjoy.



An Emigrants Farewell

This production has a full cast of 38. World Champion Irish step dancers, All Ireland seanos dancers,  set dancers, brush dancers, musicians and singers to take us back in time , to meet with 4 young Irish emigrants preparing to leave for the shores of America on board The Titanic.


Traditional Open Evenings

Connioras will also host a traditional Irish open house night every Wednesday evening for July and August 2012 at 8.30pm in Enniscoe House, Crossmolina. Resident dancers and musicians will be in attendance. Invitations to all dancers and musicians are extended by the group to come and join in. Light refreshments will be served. Admission €5. In Enniscoe, we can arrange to perform afternoon shows or host traditional sessions for the summer months should a group be interested in a day trip to this beautiful estate

Ceili and Social Dance Evenings

Every Sunday evening for July and August 2012 Connioras will host a ceili /social dance evening at 6pm, in Pontoon Bridge Hotel. The ceili is hosted under the guidance of Sean Lynott, accompanied by various country bands. Irish dancing display by the Moffatt School of Dance. Light refreshments served.Admission €5. 

Connioras is a voluntary group of young performers who all reside around the shores of Lough Conn into the Erris peninsula. Hence, their show name “Connioras”. 

The group are performing in Boston and Pittsfield in October 2012. In preparation for this trip, the group will be performing at many local events throughout the summer months. The group will also be hosting many fundraising events to ensure that Mayo is represented to the highest levels on it’s travels. Details of dates are listed below.
